Jerry Wayne Young, age 73 of Sparta,  passed away Monday morning, August 21, 2023 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County.  He was born February 10, 1950 in Sparta to the late Dibrell Lee Young and Daisy Belle Jones Young.  He was also preceded in death by his wife:  Julie Ann Carr Young,  Mother-in-law:  Betty Carr,  Brothers:  Dibrell Lee Young, Jr., Johnny Lee Young, and James Cecil Young,  Sisters:  Fannie Lee Brock and Lillie Belle Barlow.

He is survived by his daughter:  Clarrissa (John) Stewart

Son:  Matthew Wayne Young

Grandchildren:  Jonissa (Tim) Horne, Amber (Ryan) Davis, Bruce (Brittney) Young, and Brandon (Marina) Young

Great-Grandchildren:  Aurora, Tavor, Anna Belle, Hadley, Paislee, Harper, Wyatt, John, Raelynn, Adalyn, & a little boy expected soon.

Brothers:  Paul (Jessie) Young, Lloyd Young, Lyle Eugene Young, & Doug (Denise) Carr

Sisters:  Clara Mae Thompson, Gladys Garrell, Josephie Pittman, Debbie Young, Lora Ann (Shawn) Stouder, Georgia Marie Brown, Mary (Danny) Austin, and Teresa Hargis

Lifelong Friends:  Virginia and Tommy Presley

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to help with funeral expenses.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home.  John Phillips and Tommy Presley to officiate the service.  The family will receive friends from 4pm until service time on Wednesday.  To honor Jerry's wishes, he will be cremated following the service.
