Mr. Jimmy Loyd Presley, age 77 of Sparta, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Jimmy Loyd was born January 18, 1949 in Sparta, Tennessee. He was a retired carpenter and cabinet builder who spent his retirement years maintaining rental properties and working with his beloved wife at their flower shop The Rose Petal. He was an avid fisherman and loved a good game of cards. He will be fondly remembered by many as quite a character, but most importantly to him, he will be forever remembered as loving husband and devoted Pa to his family.

Jimmy Loyd is preceded in death by his mother Vernie Winnett Presley; wife of 53 years Martha Louise Qualls Presley who died November 3, 2022; brothers John Fowler, Gene Fowler and Rob D. Presley.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his two sons, Jimmy Presley and Mateka Pittman, Jody Presley and wife Cathy

Grandchildren: Kayla Crabtree and husband Christopher, Aaleiah Presley and Isaiah Temple, Alexis Presley and Connor Crabtree, Eli Presley and Tessa Presley

Great-grandchildren: Paislee Crabtree and Wyatt Crabtree

Brother: Henry Presley

Sister: Jessie Young and husband Paul

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, March 22, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home. John Murphy will officiate.

Jimmy Presley, Eli Presley, Christopher Crabtree, Connor Crabtree, Isaiah Temple, Jimmy Jack Walker and Charles Poston will serve the family as pallbearers.
