Joanne Carter Luna, age 83 of Sparta, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.  She was born June 5, 1938 in Sparta to the late Marvin Andrew and Audrey Young Carter.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy Luna, Jr., Step-Daughter:  Guylene Luna Vinson, and a sister:  Glenda Marvette Hillis.

Mrs. Joanne was a long time employee of the Good Form Hanger Factory, worked several years at Mallory Timers, and along with her husband, owned and operated the Sligo Boat Dock.  She was a very adventurous lady and loved wholeheartedly.

She is survived by her brother:  Tommy Carter of Ocala, Florida

Nephew:  David Brandon (Ashley)  Carter of Northfolk, Virginia

Special Sisters-in-law:  Edna "Neve" Rhoton,  Virginia "Midge" Taylor,  Jo Luna, Pearl Luna, and Alfidene Luna

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 9, 2021 in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Plainview Cemetery in Cassville.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am Friday until service time.  Bro. Roy Terry and Jacob Matthews will officiate the service.
