Joe Milton Swoape, age 76 of Doyle passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at the Woodbury Nursing Center. He was born November 25, 1944 in Doyle to the late Thomas Clifford and Sallie Mae McCormick Swoape.  He was also preceded in death by his wife:  Paulette Wilson Swoape, son: Kenneth Wade Swoape, 2 daughters:  Tammy Denise Swoape and Sheila Rae Swoape Davis, and 3 brothers:  Thomas, Jackie, and Lonnie Swoape.

Mr. Swoape served in the U.S. Army for 23 years and then worked with Middle Tennessee Natural Gas until retirement. He was a longtime of East Sparta Church of God.

He is survived by his 2 sons:  Clifford Milton Swoape & wife Katherine Mangione of Woodbury and Sheldon Wayne Swoape & wife Sally of Woodbury

Son-in-Law:  Scott Davis of Greenfield, Indiana

7 Grandchildren:  Caytrin Elizabeth Swoape of Drain, Oregon,  Orion Teague Leslie of Woodbury, TN,  Ashley Alexandra Swoape of Murfreesboro, TN, Samantha Jayne Swoape of Woodbury, TN, Clark Davis of Bloomington, Indiana, Nikolas Scott Davis of Austin, TX, and Shauna Paige Swoape of Woodbury, TN.

2 Great-Grandchildren: Flynn Clifford Swoape and Adalee Ramona Swoape of Drain, Oregon

3 Sisters:  Dorothy Roberts, Reba Smith, and Nelda McDonald all of Doyle

Along with several Nieces and Nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 9, 2021 at the East Sparta Church of God with burial in the Doyle Cemetery with Full Military Honors. The Family will receive friends from 6pm until 8 pm on Thursday Evening and again from 9 am until Service time on Friday.  Pastor Charles Dotson and Greg Wilson will officiate the service.
