Mr. John Clark Strode, Jr. ,age 76 of Sparta, passed away at 11:39am on Wednesday February 22, 2023 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital.

John was born June 26, 1946 in Cookeville, Tennessee. He retired from Wagner after 35 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors, hunting and gardening. John was a veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his father John Clark Strode, Sr.; mother Aline Reedy Strode Wood who died on September 16, 2022 and a brother Elsie Strode.

Survivors include his Companion of over 40 years and mother of his son Glenda Donahue

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, February 26, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will follow in Old Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12:00pm Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home. Glenn Leftwich will officiate and special music by Regina Coonrod Pullin.

Tony Strode, Ronald Strode, Jason Strode, Ronnie Reedy, Byron Hamilton and Brother Ronald Strode will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are James Coonrod, Donald Strode, Tallen Donahue and Tim Elligan
