Mr. John David Templeton, age 86 of Walling, passed away at 4:15am on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

John was born February 17, 1938 in Franklin County, Tennessee to the late Conrad and Louise Hudson Templeton. He was a home builder and electrician. John was an avid fisherman and loved to tease and spend time with his many nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Myrl Ruth Statten Templeton; daughter and son in law Juania and Roy Tefft; brothers Clifford, Willard and Thomas Templeton.

Survivors include his grandson David Tefft and wife Naomi of Connecticut

Granddaughter: Debbie Davis of Florida

Great-grandchildren: Devin Tefft, Deanna Tefft, Jonathan Garrett and Shawn Garrett

Two sisters: Marian Gooch of Walling and Jean Williams of McMinnville

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Mr. Templeton's cremation and a Celebration of Life will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Jericho Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
