Johnny Frank Hughes, age 70, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at his residence.  He was born July 24, 1952 in Sparta, Tenn.  He spent his early years growing up in Sparta and Johnson City, before moving to Crossville, TN at the age of six.

After graduating in 1971 from Cumberland County High School, he married his high school sweetheart and then served 3 years in the National Guard.  Known to his friends as "Bone" he worked in several different fields, primarily carpentry and construction, but his full-time occupation was chasing his dream of music.  Music was his passion, his comfort, his way of connecting with others, and his constant companion.  His passion was playing bass guitar, which he did with several bands throughout the years. Music never left him.

Johnny loved people.  He never met a stranger and could always make just about anyone laugh.  He will be missed by many and forgotten by few.

Daughter: Balie Hughes

Daughter: Katie Hughes

Grandchildren:  Sheridan Roberts, Ethan Roberts, Tony Roberts, Gracie Hughes, and Elana Ross

Serving as Pallbearers: Ethan Roberts, Tony Roberts, Mark Mercure, and Rodney Cimino

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home  with visitation from 1:00 pm until Service time with burial following in the Dixie O'Connor Cemetery next to his family.
