Joyce Stafford Broyles

Mrs. Joyce Stafford Broyles, age 90 of Quebeck, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026 at NHC of Sparta.

Joyce was born December 15, 1935 in Gainesboro, Tennessee to the late Lando Garvis and Ruby Elizabeth McCoin Stafford. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She fiercely loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was often in attendance at their many extracurricular and sporting events. In addition to being an avid reader, she had an extensive collection of cookbooks that paired with her love of cooking. Joyce will be remembered as a loving homemaker and for the many hours of enjoyment she found from sewing. She also had a love for traveling which began with her husband Jack’s service in the USAF. They shared a life together in various locations all over the world, including Virginia, Maine, Germany and Holland. Joyce loved recounting stories from the many places they lived. Her joy for traveling continued every winter as she visited her daughter and grandchildren in Louisiana. Joyce will be forever loved by those she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents and late husband Jack who died September 28, 2016, Joyce is also preceded in death by sister Janice Hutson and brother Douglas Stafford.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her son Jackie David Broyles and wife Vicky Thompson Broyles of Quebeck

Daughter: Karen Broyles Zimmerle & husband Matt of Slidell, Louisiana 

Grandchildren: Lee Broyles & wife Lorie Hunter Broyles of Sparta, Tennessee Kenneth Broyles & wife Jaclyn Pitman Broyles of Sparta, Tennessee; Morgan Zimmerle, Kyle Zimmerle and fiance’ Alyssa Mohammed & Dustin Zimmerle of Slidell, Louisiana 

Great Grandchildren: Hunter Broyles, Harper Broyles, Boone Broyles and Briggs Broyles all of Sparta

Sister: Charlotte Tays

Brother: Garvis Stafford

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Joyce’s cremation and at her request no public services are planned.
