Judy Simmons Braud

Ms. Judy Simmons Braud, age 63 of Manchester, a native of Sparta, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

Judy was born on Valentine's Day 1963 in Sparta, Tennessee. She was a former Waffle House and Piccadilly Cafeteria waitress as well as a Best Buy warehouse employee. Judy loved church and her family. With many years working in public, she enjoyed her trips to Wal-Mart to people watch and shop every aisle. Judy will be fondly remembered for her giving spirit. Her generosity continued after death when her liver was donated for a lady in need in Alabama.

Judy is preceded in death by her father Ernest Simmons; mother Barbara Ann Hastings Calhoun; brother David Simmons and sister Diane Simmons.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her two daughters Misty Michelle (David) Hall and Joy Nicole Hunter

Grandchildren: Paul Johnson, Sonia Hernandez, Jayden Sullivan, Dustin Keith and Jesse Hall

Siblings: Teresa (Jim) Mangrum, Cindy Simmons, Peggy Miller, Bobby Jean Swoape and Linda Sue Kirby

Sister in law: Sherry Simmons

Four legged grandson: Jasper Kane Hunter

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Judy's cremation and a family celebration will be planned for a later date.
