Mrs. Kathy Emerton Hawkins, age 68 of Sparta, passed away at 3:40am Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN.

Kathy graced this world on August 4, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Robert "Bob" and Lois Watson Emerton. If you ever had the chance to mingle with Kathy, you definitely were in for a treat! You see, Kathy had a personality and a smile that would brighten your day. She worked for and thrived in the public eye! She began her journey at the Dilly Shop, flashing that smile and her infamous dance moves around the restaurant in the 1980's! She had no idea at that early time, that she would meet her forever soulmate; Robert Hawkins. After marrying Robert and the life they had for 39 years brought Kathy into motherhood and roles she endeavored, head on, all the time. Not at all was she stubborn! Kathy took her hard working, dedicated, independent soul and blessed this world with one and only baby daughter; Samantha Hawkins-Miller who was the light of her eyes! Well, until her granddaughter, Aaliyah Rayne Hawkins came along.

In addition to Robert, Samantha and Aailyah, Kathy leaves behind her sister, Darlene Poston and a brother Daniel Emerton. In heaven she joins her parents, brother, Scottie Emerton and nephew Anthony "Tony" Emerton.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, January 30, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Richard Felts will officiate.

Brad Emerton, Charles Poston, Tommy Price, Chad Tubbs, Darrell Graham and Raymond will serve the family as pallbearers.
