Mr. Lester Lee West, affectionately known as Les, age 85, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Les was born August 2, 1937 to the late Lorene West. It was Les's dream to own a car lot and he got to live his dream for 50 years as he owned and operated L&L Auto Sales in Sparta. He enjoyed going to auto auctions and watching the Tennessee Titans and the Green Bay Packers as well White County Warrior games. He loved to watch sports and was a proud sponsor of Sparta youth sports. He was a sweet and loving husband, father, grandfather and he attended the Sparta First Church of Nazarene. In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by the parents that raised him Bill & Verna Qualls; son Les Allen West; great-grandson Reid Rodgers; brothers Lenard West, Doug Qualls, Ted Qualls, Will Qualls, Kent Qualls; sisters Bonnie Stockton, Elega Maynard and Thelma James.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years Diane Ball West

Daughters: Diana (Jeff) Fullerton, Denise (Jeff) Skonecki and Leslie (Scott) Sparkman

Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive

A Celebration of Les's life will be conducted 6:00pm Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Sparta First Church of Nazarene. The family will receive friends after 2:00pm Wednesday at the church. Graveside services will be held 10:00am Thursday morning at Highland Cemetery. Jamie McCormack and Steve Qualls will officiate.

Rick Qualls, Stacey Qualls, Tim Qualls, Ted Maynard, Dale Maynard and Johnny West will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Qualls, Kenny Qualls and David Luna.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Sparta First Church of Nazarene Youth Fund.
