Ms. Linda Kay Poston Powell, affectionately known by family and friends as Kay, age 69, passed away at 9:35am Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Kay was born July 3, 1952 in Sparta, Tennessee to Laura Mae Young Poston and the late Bill Poston. She was retired from Mallory Timers. She never had children, but she helped raise many of her nieces and nephews. Her adored children of choice were her dogs; she had many different Boxers over the years. Kay put those she cared about above everything and was the rock of her family. She was deeply loved, and she will be greatly missed.

Great-nieces: Ashlynn Phillips, Callie Phillips, Lyza Wilhite and Teonna Malone

Great-nephews: Jake Gore, Benson Wilhite and Myles Conant

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, December 9, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Plainview Cemetery on Highway 84. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Brad Walker will officiate.

Mike Poston, Cody Wilhite, Jeremy Phillips, Mark Gore, Billy Phillips and Johnny Hayes will serve the family as pallbearers.

The register book will be available after 8:00am Wednesday for friends not comfortable being in a crowd
