She was born in Sparta, Tennessee on September 11, 1944, attended elementary school in Bondecroft, graduated from White County High School in 1962, and attended two years of college at MTSC in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

She began her married life in Nashville, Tennessee as a stay-at-home wife and mother until the children were all in school, then decided to enter the work force. She enjoyed several years of working in the children's department at Castner-Knott in Donelson, then at Moore Business Forms, then at Suntrust Bank Operations Center until retirement in 2004.

She loved music, played the piano, and enjoyed going to concerts, especially Johnny Mathis (at least 15 times). She enjoyed her flowers and 'digging in the dirt' as she called it. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking, at which she was very good.

After retiring she became an active member of the Stones River Woman's Club, serving as an officer and committee chairman. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, mostly at Donelson over the last 55 years.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Donelson Church of Christ in Nashville. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service starting at 11am.
