Mrs. Linda Gale Wair Goff, age 79 of Sparta, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

Linda was born October 7, 1943, in Nashville, TN to the late Fannie Louise Taylor and Clyde William Wair, Sr.

She loved visiting museums, galleries, and good restaurants with her family and friends just as much as she did sitting at a kitchen table and catching up with her loved ones. She enjoyed gardening and watching shows with her Mama and siblings.

Linda's passion, though, was her art, a trait she passed to her kids and grandkids too. While attending art school in Nashville, many of her works were exhibited at the Tennessee State Museum, receiving notable praise for her skillful compositions and range. She had dreamt of pursuing art professionally, particularly oil painting. Life had other plans. Instead, she set outstanding production records in auto parts and candy manufacturing. She also worked in restaurants, including Goff's Barbecue alongside her husband Jackie Goff.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband Jackie Goff, her twin sister Brenda Williams and sister Patricia Moseley, and brothers Clyde Wair, Jr. and Virgil Wair.

Linda is survived with loving memories by her

Children: Steven Hailey, Robert Hailey and wife Misty, and Frances Morrighan

Grandchildren: Brigget, Kesslie, and Alicia Hailey; Joshua and Shonna Huntsman; Michael and Christopher Young; Tabitha McAleesejergins and husband Bryan

Great-grandchildren: Chloe, Landon, and Jayde Weaver; and Sophie Nora McAleesejergins

Sister: Peggy Curtiss and husband Charles

Brothers: James Wair and wife Darlene, Eugene Wair

Several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, May 6, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Plainview Cemetery in Cassville, TN. The family will receive friends after 10 am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Gary Humphrey will officiate.
