Mrs. Luz Esther Perez Galarza Montezuma, age 83 of Quebeck, passed away at 2:06pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Montezuma was born January 7, 1943 in Guyanilla, Puerto Rico, to the late Francisco and Tomasa Galarza Perez. She was a retired bus driver and limousine driver in New York. Her primary route was chauffeuring  pilots from New Jersey to the airport in New York. She will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening and cats.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Alfredo Montezuma.

Surviving family members include her five daughters, Aurea Mendoza, Rosaira E. Echevarria, Nancy E. Echevarria, Irma E. Echevarria and Janice Echevarria

Grandson: Raymon Rivera

Sister: Monsa Galarza

Brother: Francisco Jr. Galarza

Several more grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00pm Thursday, June 25, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 10:00am Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home.
