Marion was born June 25, 1932 in White County to the late, Henry Garfield and Daisy Phy Bumbalough. After leaving his job at M & H Hardware, he was employed as the White County Schools Maintenance Supervisor until he retired. He continued to be active as an electrician and appliance technician. Square dancing was one of his favorite pastimes, and he danced locally and at many festivals across the state and country. Marion loved baseball and coached Little League and Babe Ruth. His dedication to his community is evident in his service as the White County Civil Defense Chief and as one of the White County Commissioners, which he performed for twenty-four years.  Additionally, he worked part-time as a county deputy for the sheriff's department for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his twenty brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his three children Tommy Bumbalough (Gina), Elaine Rogers (Eddie), and Bruce Bumbalough

Grandchildren, Erin Begley (Michael), Emily Cox (Zac), Shane Rogers (Kayla), Stacey Underhill (Jarrod), Rochelle Bumbalough (Steven), Dylan Bumbalough (Kala), Lauren Interrante (Ryan)

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Doyle Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Carl Sims will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sparta First Baptist Church or  Doyle Cemetery in care of Hunter Funeral Home, PO Box 90, Sparta, TN 38583.

Shane Rogers, Jarrod Underhill, Michael Begley, Zach Cox, Cecil Yates and Jerome Perkins will serve as pallbearers.
