Mr. Mark Anthoney Ward, age 64 of Sparta, passed away at 11:23am on Sunday, January 19, 2025 in the Emergency Room of St. Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta.

Mark was born August 26, 1960 in Panama City, Florida to the late Tommy and Lois Kittsmiller Ward. Employment opportunities brought Mark north to Sparta where he worked at Mallory and Moeller. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to camp, fish and hunt. He also enjoyed working on small engines such as boats and lawnmowers.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years Karen Maynard Ward

Daughter: Elizabeth Ward Easley and her children Wyatt, Morgan, Lilly, Weston and Colt

Son: Forest Ward and his children

Step-children: Josh Hawkins of Smithville and Brandon Hawkins of Sparta

Step-grandchildren: Alexis Hawkins and Hunter Hawkins both of Smithville

Siblings: Keith (Sharon) Ward, Wendy (Bill) Bailey and Trina Ward all of Florida

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Thursday, January 23, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Chad Pittman will officiate.

Johnnie Maynard, Matt Norris, William England, Derek Barrett, Ron Pittman and Wayne Hutchings will serve the family as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hunter Funeral Home, PO Box 90, Sparta, TN 38583 to help the Ward family with funeral expenses.
