Mrs. Martha Frances Dodson Brasel, age 87 of Knoxville formely of Sparta, passed away Friday morning, October 15, 2021 at her residence after a brief illness.

Mrs. Brasel was born September 13, 1934 in the Big Bottom Community of White County to the late Frank & Verna Guy Dodson. She alongside her late husband, Carl Lee Brasel, owned and operated Brasel Fruit Market. In addition to her family business, she was a homemaker. She loved to cook for her family and make crafts. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her brother Billy Wade Dodson.

Survivors include her son Michael Lee Brasel of Sparta

Daughter: Kim Brasel Coleman and husband David of Knoxville

Grandchildren: Tosha Coleman Moersdorf and husband Lucas, Adam Coleman and Franklin Brasel

Great-grandchildren: Kaylin Coleman, Taygan Moersdorf, Luca Bella Moersdorf, Hadley Moersdorf, Easton Coleman, Cade Coleman, Christina Brasel

Sisters: Carolyn Goff and Ernestine Goodwin

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, October 17, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from noon until 2:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Downs will officiate.

Franklin Brasel, David Goff, Richie Goff, Adam Coleman, Lucas Moersdorf and Colton Goff will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Easton Colman and Cade Coleman
