Ms. Martha Ellen Johnson Denton, age 75 of Sparta, passed away at 1:00am Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the home of her son in Crossville, Tennessee.

Martha was born August 25, 1946 in Sparta, the oldest of 13 children born to the late Melvin Lee & Mable Irene Rutherford Johnson. She was a former cashier at different businesses around Sparta. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Sally Lance and brothers Thomas, Kenneth and Paul Johnson.

Surviving family members include her three children Jason Denton of Crossville, Lewis Denton, Jr. of Sparta and Sheila Kay Wood of McMinnville

Brothers: Robert, James, Darryl, David, Richard, Roger, Mike and Phillip Johnson

Several grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive

Martha's family has entrusted Hunter Funeral Home with her cremation and no services are planned at this time
