Mrs. Mary June Brown Mitchell, age 80 of Sparta, passed away Friday evening July 12, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

June was born April 20, 1944 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Willie Henry and Leoma Donelson Brown. She served as a CNA for 44 years most notably at NHC of Sparta. She enjoyed working with her flowers and never passed up a yard sale. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Billy "Snake" Mitchell who died October 27, 2021; brothers Ray, Clay, Bob and Keith Brown; sisters Ruby Phann, Margaret Fillers, Retha Qualls and Elizabeth Brown.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her two sons Robert Mitchell, Terry Mitchell and wife Tammy

Grandchildren: Amanda Rose and Makayla Mitchell

Great-grandchildren: Hallie Rose and Ada Rose

Brother: Joe Brown and wife Carolyn

Special cousin: Treva Driver

Special niece: Pansy Bowles

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Blakenship-Ballew-Baker Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Dewey Young will officiate.

Robert Mitchell, Jason Qualls, Jordan Young, Chris Young, Danny Brown and Joe Lowery will serve as pallbearers.
