Mary Aline Taylor Cox, better known to all that loved her as Granny, age 90 of Sparta, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at her residence.

Granny was born July 6, 1935 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Bedford Stanton Taylor, Sr. and Euna Lee Jones Taylor. She was a former nurse. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. In her later years, she enjoyed word puzzles and coloring and watching motorcycle races on television. Her 70th birthday started a tradition of going on a motorcycle ride with her son every year on her birthday.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a grandson Gaines Franklin Key; sisters Jenny Presley, Christine Clark and Mattie Taylor; brothers Ed, Robert, Buddy, Bedford, Jr, and Jerry Taylor.

Survivors include her two sons Gaines Edward Key, Jr. and John Ross Key

Daughters: Mary (Vernon) Randolph and Frances Sue (Dewayne) Randolph

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00pm Monday, July 14, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Blue Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 10:00am Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Hill will officiate.

Dakota Randolph, Ethan Randolph, Joseph Randolph, Gaines Edward Key, III, Andrew Key, Christopher Randolph, Justin Randolph and Katy Willams will serve as pallbearers.
