Mrs. Mary Jane Hudgens Griffin, age 77 of Sparta, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2021 at her residence

Jane, as she was known by friends and family, was born January 12, 1944 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Horace Arthur and Mary Redding Bonner Hudgens. In addition to owning White County Credit Bureau for many years, Jane was also a tax preparer for Farm Bureau for 23 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved doing art projects with her grandchildren. Jane was a member of First Baptist Church of Sparta where she enjoyed playing piano and handbells. She loved flowers and often traveled around in the country to enjoy the pretty scenery. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter Amy Harney and brother Dan Hudgens.

Surviving family members include her husband of 59 years Dennis Griffin of Sparta

Son: David Griffin of Sparta

Grandchildren: Steven (Jessica) Griffin, Peyton (Liz) Griffin, Mary Harney, Abigail Griffin

Great-grandchildren: Gavin, Bella and Kaden

Sister: Joann (Pedro) Paz of McMinnville

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00am until time of the service at Hunter Funeral Home. Kevin Weldon will officiate.
