Mary Frances McBride (Kight) McBride, age 86, of Henderson, Texas, died on March 24, 2023 in Henderson.

Fran was born February 8, 1937, in Sparta, Tennessee, to Thomas J. McBride and Mattie Gay McBride.

She graduated from White County High School in 1955, moved to Dallas, Texas in 1957 and lived in California from 1971 to 2023. She was a secretary, and worked for several years as secretary to the Episcopal Bishop of San Joaquin (Fresno), and later for the Episcopal Bishop of San Diego, California. She retired from the Athletic Department of California State University, Fresno.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Charlie Kight; brothers Cook Cantrell, Bill Cantrell and Davie J. McBride; sisters Lyndoll Cantrell, Christene Cantrell Clark, Susan Baker and Martha Driver.

Survivors include two daughters; Kristy Kight of Henderson, and Glenda Hedrick and husband, Bob, of Henderson, along with grandchildren Bret Hedrick of Clovis, CA and Emma Hedrick of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters Ruth Caldwell of Walling, and Gracie McBride of Sparta; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In honor of Frances' wishes, a private graveside service was conducted 11:00am Monday, April 3, 2023 at Old Philadelphia Cemetery.
