Mrs. Mary Alice Pinkston Weaver, age 93 of Sparta, passed away at 1:45am Christmas Eve morning at NHC Healthcare of Sparta.

Mrs. Mary Alice was born May 16, 1928 in the Board Valley community of White County to the late James Robert and Celia Mae Tabors Pinkston.She retired from Wagner and attended Plainview Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. Most of all, she loved being "Granny" to her family - from cooking big meals to spoiling her grandchildren - her passion was her family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Claren Weaver; son James Terrice Sawyer; siblings Frances Wallace, Betty Jo Haney, Gladys Farley, Kenneth and Robert Pinkston.

Surviving family members include her two sons Jerry Lee Sawyer and wife Tina of Ohio, Michael Sawyer and wife Pam of Sparta

Grandchildren: Brian Sawyer and wife Kim, Joshua Sawyer, Jamie Jo Sawyer, Jerry Alan Sawyer and wife Jamie Dawn

Great-grandchildren: Troy Sawyer, Aubree Mary Ruth Neely, Maddox James Sawyer

Sisters: Margaret Ceadeek and Lorene Foreman

Daughter-in-law: Dianne Sawyer

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Plainview Cemetery in the Cassville Community. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until service time Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Dan Horton will officiate.

Jerry Alan Sawyer, Brian Sawyer, Ted Maynard, Rick Clendenon, Adam Clendenon, Sam Neely and Maddox Sawyer will serve as pallbearers.
