Mrs. Maxine Burdett, age 89 of Sparta passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Life Care Center of Sparta.  She was born May 13, 1933 in Rhea County, Tennessee to the late Samuel and Mamie Hall Burdette.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Burdett along with a brother: Sam "Bud" Burdette, a sister:  Lela Mitchell and Step-mother:  Della Burdette.

Mrs. Maxine was a long time member of the Bondecroft Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law:  Ernest C. and Diana Burdett.

2 Granddaughters:  Crystal Shockley and Jennifer (Nathaniel) Dodson

Great-Grandchild:  Archer W. Shockley

Sister:  Audrey (Ken) Boudin

Brother:  Charles (Jordan) Burdette

Brothers and Sisters-in-law:  Bobby & Bertha Shockley,  Kenneth & Susie Burdette and Johnny & Carmine Burdette

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Lonewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4pm until 8pm on Saturday at the funeral home.  Bro. Jason Lewis will officiate the services.
