Mr. Michael Lee Roy Burks, age 61 of Sparta, passed away at 7:47am Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his residence.

Mike was born July 30, 1962 in Crossville, Tennessee to the late Lee Roy & Linda Hodge Burks. He was a longtime construction worker with an emphasis on carpentry. He loved being outside whether he was farming, gardening, working or being with his horses. He enjoyed everything associated with being a cowboy from his hat to westerns on television.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, October 30, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bryce Murphy will officiate.
