Mrs. Mildred Faye Williams Jones, age 85 of Crossville, formerly of Sparta, passed away at 6:45am Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Hospice of Cumberland County.

Mildred was born December 5, 1937 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Willard Ezra and Mary Lou Hickey Williams. Mildred was a career banker and entrepreneur. She loved life, family, flower gardening, and decorating. She was a very active person, always on the go. As a matter of fact, some of her grandchildren called her "Dooie" because she was always doing something. She was a perfectionist in every aspect of her life, and instilled that confidence in everyone around her. One of her favorite sayings and routine advice was "Hang tough." She was literally the rock of our world. As matriarch of the family, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to so many, she will be missed but never forgotten.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Lois Key.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her husband: Robert Earl "Bob" Jones

Two sons: James G. "Gordy" (Mary) Wallace III, Rob (Anita) Jones

Two daughters: Janet Leigh "Jan" (Dennis) Minnick, Shauna Newman

Grandchildren: Jordan Harris, Jenna (Kevin) Yates, Mia Jones, Jason (Tammy) Wallace, Micki Freeland, Melissa (Michael) Minnear, Jimmy Wallace

Great Grandchildren: Layne, Hunter, Chance, Lance, Aleese, JG, Allison, Zack, Conlon, Madeline, Allison, Jack, Stetson

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, September 11, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Tim Bumbalough will officiate.

Jason Wallace, Jimmy Wallace, JG Wallace, Zack Minnear,  Michael Minnear and Kevin Yates will serve the family as pallbearers.
