Mrs. Nancy Marie Green Brown, better known to many as Marie, age 89 formerly of Nashville, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at NHC Cookeville.

Marie was born September 9, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Warner and Nancy Mudd Green. She had a career of over 40 years at Bellsouth Telephone in Nashville. She enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores. She enjoyed many hours working on puzzles of any kind. Marie will be remembered for being an avid fan of the "Peanuts" comics, especially Snoopy and Charlie Brown. She was a member of Glencliff United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers Bobby and Donald Green.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years Johnnie Dale Brown

Step-children: Johnnie Ray (Kathleen) Denton, Leslie (Michael) Yates, Vickie Denton and Mark Ray, Stephen (Sherrie) Denton

Nephews: Alan (Lorie) Green and Darren (Teresa) Green

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 2:00pm Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Brother Hyeon Hong, Everett Wilson and David Bone will officiate.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation for Nashville friends will be from 9:30 until departure for the cemetery at 10:30 at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel.
