Nelson Eugene "Gene"  Farley, 88, of Nashville, TN, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 16, 2025.

He was born in White County, TN on August 15, 1936 to Vester and Ovella Farley. Gene graduated from White County High School in 1955.  He was employed by Ford Motor Company and Ford Glass Credit Union.

Gene was preceded in death by his father Vester Farley , mother Ovella Jones Farley, sister Polly Stinnett and grandson Ben Farley.

He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 67 years, Dorothy "Dot" Farley, daughter Jill Farley Cape (Steve) and sons Tim Farley (Jennifer) and Don Farley (Jennifer).  He is also survived by grandchildren Will Farley, Kate Farley Laws (Ben), Brett Farley (Keirstin), James Farley (Abbey), Seth Farley and step-grandchildren Mary Cape Wakefield (Deandre), Amanda Cape and Sarah Cape.  He was blessed with 5 great–grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.

(Nashville) Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 am Nashville First Baptist Church, 108 7th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203.  Visitation with the family will be in the sanctuary foyer from 10:00 am - 10:50 am.

(Sparta) Graveside service is Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:30 am at  Old New Hope Missionary Church, 445 Old New Hope Rd., Sparta, TN 38583.
Visitation with the family will be at 11:00 am.
