Ms. Opal Eveleene Hawkins Barlow, age 92 of Sparta passed away at 8:30pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Opal was born November 12, 1931 in Dekalb County to the late Clure and Nettie Shaw Hawkins. She was retired from Red Kap. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, canning from her garden and working with her flowers.  Her family and friends will always have fond memories of her cooking and baking. Opal was a member of East Sparta Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a sister Ruby Griffin and brother James Hawkins.

Survivors include her daughter Ginger Elaine Williams and husband Philip of Rickman, TN

Grandsons: Kade Garrison McCormick, Traeton Gray McCormick and wife Hannah

Sister: Agnes Hutson of Englewood, OH

Father of her daughter: Paul Barlow

Special friend and caregiver: Gail Dabbs

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bill Randolph will officiate.

Kade McCormick, Traeton McCormick, Alex Saylor,Darrel Dabbs, Taylor Hankal and David Hankal will serve as pallbearers.
