Mrs. Patricia Ann Saturday Simms, affectionately known as Pat, age 81 of Sparta, passed away at 10:35am Saturday, November 12, 2022 at NHC of Sparta surrounded by family.

Pat was born January 21, 1941 in Port Wentworth, Georgia to the late Thomas Levi and Ellen Kate Anderson Saturday. She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband in the family business, Sparta Lawnmower and Saw Service. She was an active member of the Eastern Star where she  served as Worthy Matron and also traveled to other Eastern Star Chapters to observe and make sure they were following the rules and protocols correctly. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Fred Lucius Simms who died on August 13, 2021; brothers Charles and Carlton Saturday.

Surviving family members include her two sons, Fred Marcus Simms and wife Debbie, Thomas Parker Simms and husband Shane

Grandchildren: Jason Simms, Levi Simms, Cameron Simms and husband Gary, Zachary Simms and wife Melanie, Nicholas Simms and wife Kelsey

Great-grandchildren: Kingston, Katilyn, Kelsey, Kirstens and Taylor

Four great-great-grandchildren

Sister-in-law: Sallie and husband James Sykes

Numerous nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Blue Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Everett Wilson will officiate.

Cameron, Levi, Nicholas, Zachary, Shane and Gary Simms will serve as pallbearers.
