Patricia Ann Shepard Chrusciel, known and loved as Pat/Mom/Nana, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at the age of eighty-two in Sparta, TN. In the wee hours of the morning, she joined her beloved husband and is now finally at peace after her battle with dementia.

Pat was born in Chicago, IL, and, from an early age, she was someone who took care of others. She helped raise her siblings and carried that same love and responsibility for her family with her throughout her entire life. She was the kind of person who put everyone else first; thoughtful, strong, and endlessly kind. Even during her struggle with dementia, she never lost that kindness or her sense of humor. Pat remained gentle, loving, and full of heart, which says everything about what an amazing person she was.

Pat loved deeply, especially her husband, Ed, whom she cared for until his passing. Mom raised three wonderful kids she was proud of - and who gave her the opportunity to be an incredibly devoted grandmother who adored her grandkids. She spoiled them, showed up for them, and made sure they felt loved every single day.

Pat found joy in the things she loved — line dancing, shopping, listening to Elvis Presley, shopping, all things Wizard of Oz, and shopping. She also had a strong love for salt and was not shy about using it on every dish! She hosted the family's Christmas Eve each year, bringing everyone together and making the holidays feel warm, special, and full of love. She also dearly loved her dogs, Missy & Maci, who brought her comfort and joy. And it is fair to say, they may have been just a tiny bit more spoiled than they should have been!

Pat was always someone you could talk to — someone who would listen, give advice, and make you feel understood. She had a way of making people feel safe and cared for. Everyone who knew Pat loved her, and she was very blessed with many close and lasting friendships.

Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed in 2014. She is survived by her children: Darlene (Jeff),  Dawn (Vince), and Dan (Angela), and her cherished grandchildren Jacob (Jenna L), Karson (Kassie), Jenna (Zach), Kelsie, Vivienne, and Charlotte.  Pat/"Sissy" is survived by her youngest brother:  Mike (Barb).

Hunter Funeral Home was entrusted with Pat's cremation and a private memorial will be held later in May in the Chicagoland area.
