Mr. Paul David Thompson, age 85, affectionately known as "Bud", passed away at 7pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital.

Mr. Thompson was born March 20, 1938 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Paul and Martha Edna Cody Thompson. Bud was a truck driver, operating 18-wheelers and heavy equipment. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Engineer, driving heavy equipment. At his happiest, he could be found at Lake Tansi with his wife and friends. Bud also loved to take rides around Sparta with his wife, where they could often be found in one of their spots "watching the world go by."

In addition to his parents, Bud is preceded in death by sister JoAnn Thompson.

The Thompson family has entrusted Hunter Funeral Home with Bud's cremation. There will be a private burial in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
