Pauline "Polly" Gibson, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home July 17, 2022, after an extended illness.  She was the daughter of Walter and Lena Howell Smith.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim "Hoot" Gibson, daughter Tammy Hensley, son-in-law Mark Hensley, brother Von Smith, sister-in-law Pearl Smith and brother-in-law Terry Whiteaker.

She worked in the garment industry beginning with Spartan Industries, Doyle Shirt, Lyon Uniform in Dayton, OH and Nashville, TN, Covco Ind/Red Cap and Casual Apparel.

Survivors include a brother, Earl Smith, a sister, Joyce Whiteaker, nieces, Marla (Steve) Moore, Emily Jones.  Nephews,  Barron Smith and Steve (Janie) Randolph.  Great nephews, Eli Price, Smith Bennington and Evan Smith.

Graveside services will be held at Old Zion Cemetery, at 10 am on Monday, July 18, 2022, Gary McBride officiating.
