Ms. Ramonia Quinet Henderson Woods, affectionately known as Penny to family and friends, departed this life at 4:10pm on Monday, October 17, 2022 at NHC Health Care of Sparta.
Penny was born on May 15, 1967 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Wilma L. Henderson. She was 1985 graduate of White County High School. Penny held several jobs, but her most gratifying has been the last 14 years with the White County Board of Education, serving as a cafeteria worker to the students of White County Middle School and Findlay Elementary School. During her time in the school system, she befriended many that became like family to her. Penny's greatest achievement was being mama to her daughter Lakisha.
In addition to her mother, Penny is also preceded in death by her grandparents that were instrumental in raising her, Charles & Mattie Henderson; aunt Gussie Lowery and cousin Currron Lowery.
Family and friends that Penny leaves behind to cherish her memory include her daughter Lakisha Woods of Sparta
Uncle: Terry (Kate) Henderson of McMinnville
Special grandson: Brayden Qualls
A host of cousins including June Leftwich, Dee Dee Jones and Saxton Lowery
Special helpers: Wenda Leftwich, Cynthia Woody and Glenn Bonner
Lifelong friend: Carol Officer Bonner
A host of friends and beloved co-workers also survive
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, October 22, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. Erman Williams, Sr. and Bro. Clay Leftwich will officiate.
Chris Henderson, Tony Officer, Dennis Henderson, Anthony Henderson, Terrance Martin and Toby Culley will serve the family as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the following for their kindness and willingness to assist Penny and Lakisha - Marla Moore, NP, Cancer Center of Cookeville, Lisa Scott, Gina Brock, Clay Leftwich and entire staff at NHC Healthcare for your geniune care and support during Penny's final days and continued care of Lakisha, your sincere affection will never been be forgotten, the family and staff of Hunter Funeral Home. Last but definitely not least, White County Board of Education and the ladies that became Penny's family. Thank you all for showing her and Lakisha so much love, we cannot thank you enough.
