Mrs. Reba Joyce Swoape Smith, age 75 of Doyle, passed away at 3:37am Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Mrs. Smith was born March 2, 1948 in Sparta to the late Thomas Clifford and Sallie Mae McCormick Swoape.

Reba was former beautician for 30 years before she was a part of the family business, Smith's Farm & Greenhouse. She loved gardening and working with her flowers. She enjoyed getting time away and going to the Smokies, where she enjoyed Cades Cove, Wears Valley, Pigeon Forge and the Cataloochie Valley. However, her favorite time spent was with her family and being Nanny to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Reba is preceded in death by brothers Thomas Swoape, Jackie Swoape, Lonnie Swoape and Joe Swoape; sister Dorothy Roberts.

Great-grandkids: Caden Mitchell, Carlie Lewis, Aleigha Weston, Bradyn Geer, Aubree Geer, Callie Lewis, Ryli Smith

Sister: Nelda McDonald

A host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Friday, March 17, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Britton Smith, Eli McDonald, Terry Haley, Jimbo Haley, Josh Lewis, Seth Weston, Stoney Roberts and Scott Swoape will serve the family as pallbearers.
