Mr. Richard Delore Burnell, better known as Rick, age 78 formerly of Revere, Massachusetts passed away at 2:41pm Thursday, December 12, 2024 in the Emergency Room of Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Rick was born October 18, 1946 in Waltham, Massachusetts to the late Alfred Earl and Marie Murty Welch Burnell. He was a retired construction worker with an emphasis in carpentry work. Rick was an avid outdoorsman and loved swimming. He enjoyed listening to music and playing guitar. His career in carpentry may him a meticulous worker and that trait proved him well when he worked detailing cars. Rick was a proud Vietnam veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his two brothers Daniel and David Burnell.

Surviving family members include children Shannon Marie Burnell, Elizabeth Thresa Burnell, Adam Daniel Burnell and wife Melissa and Brian Vincent Burnell

Grandchildren: Dominique, Christian, Kiara-Reign, Khalili, Shai'Lani, Tomie, Baiz, Reign, Reid, Elijah, Ayla and Mona

Along with 7 great-grandchildren

Two sisters: Gail Marie Bates and husband Richard, Barbara LeBlanc and husband Joseph

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Rick's cremation and a memorial will be conducted in Massachusetts at a later date.
