Richard Paul England, more commonly known as Little Richard, 75, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his home in Sparta, Tennessee.
Richard was a native of White County where he graduated from White County High School in 1963. He joined the United States Air Force as an MP where he was stationed in the Panama Canal during the Vietnam War. He was an over the road truck driver for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, and reading books in his spare time.
Richard was the son of the late Raymond Harold England, Sr. and Verna Lorena Mae Mayfield England Prater. He was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Richard Throckmorton.
He was met at the pearly gates with open arms by his granddaughter Abigail Pack and grandson Taylor Blake Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Scoggins England of Sparta
Four daughters: Kimberly (Daniel Mack) Johnson of Sparta, Michele (Chris) Robinson of Cookeville, TN, Tammy (David) Broyles of Sparta, and Letitia (Russell) Manus of Walling
Son-in-law: Mark Johnson
Six grandchildren: Brannon (Eryke) Randolph, Raquel Goff, Saige Johnson, Nalan Pack, Cole Robinson, and Mackenzie Johnson.
Three step-grandchildren: Andrew (Darbie) Manus, Jackson Manus, and Bryant Broyles
Two great-grandchildren: Gage Randolph and Avalei Randolph
Brother: Raymond Harold (Denise) England
Sister: Brenda (Edward) Randolph
He leaves behind a host of brother and sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday, February 6, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00am until service time at 2:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. Nathan Hawkins will officiate and eulogy will be read by Richard Allen England.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Brannon Randolph, Raquel Goff, Saige Johnson, Nalan Pack, Cole Robinson and Mackenzie Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Gage Randolph and Avalei Randolph.
The register book will be available Friday from 8:30am until 4:00pm in the parlor of Hunter Funeral Home for friends not comfortable being in a crowd.
The family respectfully asks that friends visiting the funeral home to please wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines.
