Mr. Richard Dale Lewis, age 45 of Sparta passed away unexpectedly in the Emergency Room of St. Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Richard was born September 9, 1980 in LaPorte, Indiana. He was an avid outdoorsman, having a love for fishing and hunting and working outside as a carpenter and roofer. Richard will be fondly remembered as a beloved son, brother, friend and jokester.

Richard is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Haston and Wiley Tindle; aunt Evelyn Tindle and uncles R.T. and Junior Tindle.

Surviving family members include his mother Alice Lewis

Sisters: Tracy (Ralph) Pedde, Amanda (Daniel) Keith and April Seibers

Brother: Eric Lewis

Girlfriend: Tracy Price

Grandson: Michael "Monkeyman" Marsh

Four legged friend: Bo

A host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00am Friday at Lewis Cemetery at 1137 Disneyland Road, Sparta. There will be no visitation prior to the service. John Hart will officiate.

Eric Lewis, Jeff Young, Daniel Ballew, Michael Marsh, Anthony Lawson, Matt Davis and Frankie Davis will serve the family as pallbearers.
