Mr. Robert Gary Young, Sr., age 63 of Sparta, passed away at 8:34pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville.

Robert was born September 9, 1958 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late William Howard & Thelma Lee Young. He was a brick and block mason. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother Jackie Young.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years Anita Rittenberry Young

Sons: Jonathan (Shirley) Young, Steven (Joann) Young, Robert (Kayla) Young

Sisters: Kathy Redmond, Patricia Carver, Shelby Clement, Sheila Clark, Lawanda Anderson

Brother: Robert Clement

Grandchildren: Caylee, Ryan, Riley, Kolton, Hunter, Damian, Jezzlyn, Jaxx, Jayden

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Friday, February 4, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00am until 1:00pm.

Daniel Sumner, Ronnie Sumner, Donovan Young, Josh Young, Wade Marshall, Greg Seibers, Jackie Brown, Brandon Coffman, Matthew Coffman and Mikey Coffman will serve the family as pallbearers.
