Mrs. Roberta Ann Johnson Holman, better known as Peggy, age 90 of Sparta, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 with her husband of 70 years, Clay by her side.

Peggy was born December 18, 1932 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Robert Paul and Clara LaFever Johnson. She was a longtime receptionist for White County Hospital. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by brothers Paul and Stanton Johnson.

Surviving family members include her husband of 70 years Clay Holman of Sparta

Son: Will Holman and wife Sherrie of Knoxville, TN

Grandchildren: Travis Holman of Sparta, Jennifer Thurman of Texas, Biskie Duncan and husband Josh of Bossier City, Louisiana

Great-grandchildren: Will Thurman, Clay Thurman and  Elwood Atticus Holman

Brother: William Lafayette Johnson of Nevada

In honor of Peggy wishes, a private burial was conducted Friday, November 10, 2023 at Highland Cemetery. There are no public services planned at this time.
