Mr. Ronald Hoyt "Ronnie" Young, age 84, passed away at 1:59 p.m.  on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Ronnie was born April 27, 1936 in Dekalb County to the late John Frank & Vella Elizabeth Knowles Young. He worked several jobs but most notably his wood working job with Ralph Hutson's company. He was a standout football player for the Tennessee School for the Deaf where he served as a Captain. His love for his alma mater carried on throughout his life as he tried to attend their games every year. He loved to watch sports on television but on Saturdays in the fall, his devotion turned to his beloved Tennessee Vols. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Fred Alfred Young.

Survivors include his two sisters Ruby Foster and husband Henry, Peggy Hardemon

Nieces and caregivers: Brenda Selby and husband Robert, Glenda Myers and husband John

Special children: Misty Dial Patterson and Adam Dial

Several additional nieces and nephews also survive

In consideration of the health and safety of family and friends, a private graveside service was conducted 2:00pm Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Young's Bend Cemetery. Robert Selby officiated.
