Obituary

Ronny Michael Anderson was born on November 17, 1944 in Sparta, Tennessee to William Charles and Ida Marie Anderson.  He passed away peacefully at home, with loving family at his side, on January 3, 2026.

Faithfulness and service marked Ronny's career, which began at the late Ed Knowles grocery store (Knowles Market). He then gave 29 years of service to Thomas Industries before retiring from Townsend Textron after 16 years there. Ronny also served his country with pride and patriotism. He retired from the Tennessee National Guard after 21 years of honorable service.

Ronny's confidence in Christ Jesus anchored his faithfulness as a husband, father, grandfather and friend. He lived his entire life as an active member of the North Sparta Church of God. Ronny had a dedication to serve the church and Christ in any capacity required. As a result, Ronny lived selflessly—committed to his family and to helping any friend in need. He wholeheartedly fulfilled the words of Jesus, "good and faithful servant."

Ronny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Ann Adcock Anderson; his sons: Mike (Julie) Anderson of Walling, TN and Jay (Vanessa) Anderson of Sale Creek, TN; his grandchildren: Seth Anderson, Caroline (Todd) Holman, Katie (Chanel) Anderson, Eva Anderson, Cayden Millraney and Rylie Millraney; his great grandchildren: Lake and Lively Anderson and Adalee, Blaine, Tatum and Walker Holman; his brother: Morgan (Judy) Anderson; and his brother-in-law: David (Winona) Adcock.

Pallbearers will include Scott Anderson, Seth Anderson, David Adcock, Todd Holman, Jim Brown and Steve Hickey.

Honorary pallbearers include Lloyd Earl Roberts and Bud Rollins.

Ronny's family will hold a visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6 at North Sparta Church of God (335 North Spring Street, Sparta, TN;  https://northsparta.com) and on Wednesday January 7 at 11-1 pm with a celebration of life service on Wednesday, January 7 at 1 p.m. at North Sparta Church of God. Brother Steve Gerhart will officiate. Burial will take place at Plainview Cemetery immediately following this service with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial donations may be made to the Men's Community Fellowship Breakfast, 335 N Spring Street, Sparta, TN 38583.

The Anderson family remains profoundly grateful to the staff at Gentiva Hospice and caregiver Kim Roberson for their exceptional care, compassion and support.
