Mrs. Ruth Mai Johnson Griffin, age 87 of Smithville, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024 at St. Thomas Hospital in Smithville.  She was born September 10, 1936 to the late Frank and Velma Clemons Johnson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband: J.C. Griffin, a daughter: Teresa Diane Griffin, sister:  Juanita Bates, and brother:  Eddie Johnson.

Mrs. Mai was a long time employee at Red Kap in Sparta

She is survived by her daughter:  Kathy Darlene Griffin

3 Grandchildren:  Barry Alan Griffin, Krystal Nash, and Tonya Nash

3 sisters:  Loretta Linder,  Peggy Colwell, and Louise Arnold

Brother:  Kenneth Johnson

Great-Grandchildren:  Jacob Christopher Nash, Owen Price, Matthew Price, Jordan Tyler Qualls, James Thomas Qualls, Steven Qualls, and Nicholas Gaige Qualls along with several other Great-Grandchildren

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Taylors Providence Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 am until Service time on Wednesday.

Aaron Dodson, Justin Collins, Lee Griffin, Danny Wagner and James Griffin will serve as Pallbearers
