Mr. Sam Leonard Tindle, better known as John, age 73 of Sparta, passed away at 10:15am on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital.

John was born March 18, 1948 in White County to the late Sam Joe & Josie Mae Deaton Tindle. He was a former rock truck driver for Hillis Group Trucking. He was an avid deer hunter and a member of The Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by siblings Robert L. "Buck" Tindle, Charles Tindle, Anna Mae Jones, Betty Parsley and James Ernest Tindle.

A host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, December 4, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Jericho Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00am until service time at Hunter Funeral Home. Mark LaFever will officiate.

Jonathan Kirby, Marvin Rogers, Kenny Rogers, Donnie Henley, Terry Floyd and Connor Williams will serve the family as pallbearers.
