Sharon Burris Taylor

Mrs. Sharon Louise Burris Taylor, age 60 of Sparta, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 10, 2026 at her residence.

Sharon was born August 24, 1965 in Sparta, Tennessee. She was a former garment factory worker but most notably a homemaker. She enjoyed being by the side of her late husband, J.T. Taylor, who died November 24, 2025. They enjoyed Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and were regular fixtures at Rod Run in the spring. Sharon also cherished being Granny Sharon to her adoring grandchildren.

In addition to J.T., Sharon is also preceded in death by her mother Dimple Dean Burgess, Father Mark Burris, step-son James Edward Taylor, grandparents Eva Mae Burris and Hayden Burris, 2 Brothers Phillip and Mark Burris, and a sister Sheila Burris

Surviving family members include her son Jason McCurry and wife Sierra

Grandchildren: Nora Dean McCurry, Eren McCurry, Aiden Moles, Olivia Jennings, Brody McCurry, Colton Taylor, Kaitlynn Taylor and Dallas Harris

Step son: Chet Taylor

Sisters: Debbie Burris and Glenda Burris Barton

Brother: Mark Waldon

Niece: Reba Patterson

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Sharon’s cremation and a memorial service will be conducted 12:00pm Friday, August 14, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 10:00am Friday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. David Bratcher will officiate.
