Obituary

Mr. Carlos Wayne Dailey, much better known as Sonny, age 78 of Quebeck, passed away at 12:02pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, after a brief illness at his residence with family by his side.

Sonny was born April 30, 1947 in Celina, Tennessee to the late James Wesley and Delpha Ann Johnson Dailey. Sonny loved to work. From an early age, he would help friends and neighbors with hauling hay, working in tobacco and working cattle. In his teenage years, he moved away from home and parked cars at the Grand Ole Opry, once receiving a $2 bill from Minnie Pearl as a tip. He also worked as a security guard and truck driver. Sonny ultimately retired as a maintenance worker at Jeld-Wen. He spent his retirement years working at the convenience center in the Cassville community, where he enjoyed visiting with people, as well as mowing yards and cutting fire wood for his elderly friends. Saturday nights were spent watching Dailey and Vincent, while the rest of his time was devoted to being a loving Pa for his grandsons that loved him dearly. Sonny will be remembered as a collector and the gossip king of Quebeck, but more than anything, being a good friend to so many.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Etta Ruth Seibers Dailey who died August 14, 2004.
