Mr. Stanley Thomas Gibbs, age 66 of Sparta, passed away tragically on Friday evening, November 14, 2025 while walking his best friend, Lucky.

Stanley was born June 5, 1959 in Sparta, Tennessee. He was a longtime salvage yard laborer. Stanley was an active member of Ole Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with family and friends.

Stanley is preceded in death by his father L.T. Gibbs; mother Allie Marie Parks Posekeny; sister Loretta Gibbs Young and nephews Daniel and Ezekial Young.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his three sisters Judy Barnes, Sarah Gibbs, Roberta Burton and Robert Merrell

Nieces: Andrea Burton, Erica Burton and Rebecca Cobb

Great Nephew: Jasper Burton Wilson

Great-niece: Ayla Burton Poston

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Jeff Randolph will officiate.

Robert Merrell, James Burton, Matt Poston, Jasper Burton Wilson and Ben Lee will serve the family as pallbearers.
