Obituary

Mr. Stanton Kinnard , age 82 of Sparta, passed away at 1:45am Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Stanton was born April 17, 1939 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Willie Homer and Elizabeth Johnson Kinnard. Stanton was a brick mason prior to founding Aqua Pool in 1977, which he owned and operated until 2000. Stanton was also a farmer and an incredibly active father for his son Stan - from sponsoring Tee-ball teams to serving as Cub Scout Den Leader to helping him with school projects. Stanton proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany on the Czechoslovakian border as part of a three-man crew with a Davy Crockett Weapon System.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Joan Pitman Kinnard, who died January 7, 2015; two daughters, Melonie and Dawn Kinnard; two sisters Maxine Allen and Ceba Ann Kinnard.

Survivors include son Stan Kinnard and wife Marcie

Four grandchildren: Laney, Lilly, Levi and Lexi Kate Kinnard

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00am Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Benningfield will officiate.

Rhyn Brogden, Jason Goodwin, Mark Messenger, Chris Cravens, Jacob Williams and Jason Powell will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Stanley Pitman, Jim Cravens, Bill Allen and Stan Allen
