Mr. Steve Douglas Gentry, age 58 of Sparta, passed away at 1:06 pm, Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Steve was born October 29, 1962 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Carl Douglas & Clara Elizabeth Williams Gentry. Steve was a longtime security guard at Mallory then went to work many years at S&S Screw as a custodian. More recently, many people may know him from the White County Convenience Centers, most notably the one at Baker's Crossroads. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a grandson Jason Gentry; sister Peggy Key.

Step-son: Gary (Sherri) Mabe

Brother: Dwayne (Lois) Gentry

Sister: Karen (Richard) Oliver

Two granddaughters

Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery on Highway 84. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until service time Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Henry Roark will officiate and music will be provided by the Margesons.
